DHTML Lemmings

All the inane chatter goes in here. If you're curious about whether we will support a game, post HERE not in General Discussion :)

DHTML Lemmings

Post by ezekiel000 »

This is not asking if Lemmings will be supported by ScummVM

I've been wondering why know one has taken the source code from DHTML Lemmings and adapted it to a multiplatform offline interpreter like ScummVM. As it is GPL so your allowed to take the code and change it how you like, this could then support the 8+ variants of the game data (Lemmings, Xmas Lemmings 1991, Xmas Lemmings 1992, Christmas/Holiday Lemmings 1993, Christmas/Holiday Lemmings 1994, Oh No! More Lemmings, Lemmings for Windows, Lemmings for Windows 95).

I'm not a programmer so I don't know if this is even possible but it seems like a good idea.

Funny you mention Lemmings, there has been a post about that just the other day:

That's interesting. But the comment about not being an emulator is a bit odd as all the dos lemmings games used the same engine until lemmings 2. So it would be doable to set-up a system like ScummVM has that supports a range of games and versions.

But thanks for the link to the Tundra project.

well, ScummVM DOESN'T actually emulate anything, it replaces the original game interpreters so you can execute scripts from the original game data files on a variety of modern platforms.

I know ScummVM doesn't emulate anything (except the midi), Sorry I misunderstood the original post I thought it was just asking for them to be added to ScummVM as I was just quickly reading through the thread.
