Seeing on the game's download page that it requires at least Windows 95 I don't think so.

It's made with the latest version of AGS. It's not a DOS game. There are a few people on the AGDI forums discussing getting it to work on a Mac with crossover software.

I read an interview of the AGDI members in the site of the adventure classic gaming and they don't plan at least for the near future to produce another remake. I think that they do not have the financial support for all this...That's why the remake of Trial by fire took so long. But it was worth the patience.The game seems to be really good.

They don't have any financial support at all. If they did there'd be some major lawsuits going down.

What about a linux with wine virtual machine for vmware player on mac. They have preconfigured virtual machines available for free, as is the player.
As for lawsuits, this is one of the franchises that wasn't owned by Sierra. The Coles were contracted for the games and own the rights to it; thats why there's no Quest for Glory collection by Vivendi. I'm pretty sure that Lori-Ann Cole was well aware of the project since she had conversed with some of the agdi members, so it's unlikely to draw any legal action.

Wrong. AGDI had to get permission from Vivendi to make the remake. They didn't make a QFG collection because they had no hope of fitting all 5 games on a single CD (which cuts costs). And unlike LSL or KQ you can't cut any of the games out of the QFG series since it's always a continuing story. Probably couldn't get QFG5 working in XP either.

You are definitely right. I remember one of their big games they published, was still being sold by its designer. I think I was thinking of Goldrush, or California Gold Rush http://www.softwarefarm.com/gr_home.htm as its called now. That's quite a large confusion... sorry.
Also, I also just realized Sierra published a collection of the first 4 on cd a while ago, not sure how on many discs.

In fact they had to submit the final version of the game to Vivendi for approval before they were allowed to release it.

It was a 2CD collection, with the first 4 games, CD version of QFG 4, and a 2nd disc with a sound track and a demo of QFG 5 (at least the one that I bought).

And Vivendi owns 100% of the rights to the QFG franchise. Just because work is done on contract for a publisher doesn't mean that the publishers don't own the rights. I'm sure the Coles signed a contract that made Sierra full owners of the trademark and whatnot.
