Attempting to acquire Sierra AGI games...

All the inane chatter goes in here. If you're curious about whether we will support a game, post HERE not in General Discussion :)

Attempting to acquire Sierra AGI games...

Post by Mud »

I'm attempting to get most of Sierra's AGI games, but I've run into a wall. Are Police Quest 1 and the King's Quest AGI games included in any compilations? I'd prefer if they were on CD, as I no longer have a working floppy disk drive at home. I know some of the AGI games were included in recent compilations, but I'd much rather get most of them together.

Oops, I just assumed they would pack both versions in like they did with the Roberta Williams anthology I picked up a couple of weeks ago for 33 €cents.

Nope, and the bad thing is also: the larry pack does NOT contain cd versions of the games, but the floppy version (which means, No digital voices)..

Oh, so the Larry pack sucks even more? I thought it was a faulty product only because the collection is missing the last game from the series altogether.

Wikipedia:
The AGI version was made because Sierra supposed that contemporary low-end systems would be unable to run the SCI version and would require a 'lighter' version of the game. However, sales figures proved them wrong and the AGI version was swiftly discontinued. Because of its rarity, the AGI version could be considered a collector's item.

No, ALL of the KQ collections only had the SCI version.

Yes, KQ4AGI (EGA/Parser) exists but KQ4SCI (EGA/Mouse/Parser/Sound Card Support) is more popular and is the one included in all the collections. The AGI version of KQ4 was only made for people who hadn't yet upgraded to newer computer hardware. There aren't many around. I have a copy, though, and it's a nice little rare gem.
