...but I really dont understand any of the answers in any of the other topics as I dont know much about this stuff at all. I recently reinstalled broken sword 1-3 off the broken sword trilogy disk, but found I am unable to save in BS1 (after about an hour of play, naturally). The error message comes up saying Can't create SAVEGAME.INF in directory 'C:/ProgramFiles/Broken Sword Trilogy/Saves'. I'm not sure how to follow the path and to check write permissions. Thanks.

Is that "ProgramFiles" or "Program Files" ?

Try saving in another directory

Sorry for the double post, I have a probably very stupid SCUMMVM related question. Where should I save game files so that I can find them on SCUMMVM? I can never seem to locate them.
