DW2 & Bud Tucker - screen goes black then crashes

Post by fxgopher »

Hi all

Everytime I try to run these games, I get a black screen, then it crashes the emulator out.

I use each day's daily build, but I'm just not having any joy.

I've tried both full and windowed screen modes.

I'm currently running onboard graphics till I can replace my duff graphics card

"NVIDIA GeForce 7050 PV / NVIDIA nForce 630a [Display adapter]
SyncMaster 171S/ 175S/ 170S, SyncMaster Magic CX175S-AZ/LX175S [Monitor]"

Also, can someone point me in the direction of a program that can rip the music tracks for the 7th Guest that Scummvm says are needed?

Thanks in advance

ScummVM is not an emulator ...

Have you ripped all necessary files according to the datafiles page?

For ripping audio, I would recommend something like Exact Audio Copy.

Sorry wrong choice of terminology. (half asleep)

According to the list on wiki, I've got everything that's needed, but to no avail.

I'll try re-ripping them again, but ti's weird - it's only DW2 & Bud.

Got all the other games operational and checked against the lists.

Do you reccomend the files are all in one big folder, or should I leave the sub directories intact?

You have ALL the other games supported by ScummVM?:)

I suggest keeping the folder structure intact where the datafiles page tells you to copy the whole folder. It's not a problem for ScummVM.

what was your *.idx file in DW2 called, and what did you rename it to?

Our FAQ describes how to provide us with the error message which ScummVM prints out. Please, refer to #5.6. And besides, neither of the mentioned games are announced as supported.

Two files had become corrupted during the transfer from my CD's.

Thanks to the FAQ tip, I was able to see which ones it was & from there replace and check them through.
