SCUMMVM could not find any game in the specified directory!

Post by Deiphobos »

Sorry if this has been asked millions of times before.

Scummvm is unable to find The Curse of Monkey Island, it worked for Monkey 1 & 2 but when i find the folder with the monkey 3 files in it, it cant open it. Anyone have a similar problem or any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks

I wonder why you created CUE and BIN files from your CDs? Just copy off the required files from you original disks. For a list of needed files check out our wiki.

Do I hear a bit of sarcasm there?

Unfortunately I think you have just broken forum rule #0 and you will not get more help on this forum.

I like being the nasty one for once

Good for you, but in that case may I ask... why bin/cue?

He used to play MI3 in Windows and didn't want to get scratches on his original cds / didn't want to play DJ / wanted to play without cds.

Did i forget a possibility ?

Oh, those excuses... If you want to preserve your CDs, you don't have to make images of them.

I normally install my games with full installation, so that all data needed are on my hard drive and then remove the original CD search protection, so that I can play without CDs inserted and keep them at a safe place.

And no, these copies are just running on MY computer.

Well, if he did one of those things he really should know how to mount a cd image too..... at least one would think so;)

Well he does know/has found out according to his second post.
For some reason he assumed ScummVM can open bin/cue images and didn't look at the documentation.

Hey, people assume the weirdest stuff depending on their previous experiences. It makes life fun, or horrible, depending on the situation :)

Well, at least I do not expect my car radio to play iso images of my CDs...

But maybe he thought that's the only way to put two files with identical file name but different content into the same directory.
