Does anyone know if Ankh, Ankh: Heart of Osiris & Jack Keane are any good? What type of adventure are they Point & Click or Prince of Persia 3D?
Also does anyone know if the Linux version works on 64bit systems?

They are normal point and click adventures, but fully 3D.
Wether they are good or not is a personal preference I think, I personally found the humor to be a bit cheesy, the gfx ok, but not great and the puzzles to be average. They seem to have drawn some inspiration from the great LucasArts classics but can not match them in any way.
In any case, I thought all of them were ok for passing the time, but I don't think I'm going to replay them.
Don't know about Linux compatibility.

Yes it works in 64bit. Your distribution should have the package for you. Just look in your package manger.
Alternatively you can get it on the download page. There is a Fedora 64bit RPM there and experimental Debian and Ubuntu 64bit DEB packages.

Of you were not talking about ScummVM. never mind then, Ill shut up now...

Jonatan thanks for your information, it's a shame there isn't a linux demo to try.

As Jonatan say they are point & click. I kind of liked Ankh. Yes the humour is a bit cheesy but most of the time it is fun anyway. They abuse a bit on anachronisms though. It is not a masterpiece but it is enjoyable. Ankh 2 felt more like an extension to the first one than another game to me. The only change from the first is the story (it continues the first game story actually). I still enjoyed it, but less than the first (while anachronisms and cheesy humour was fine in one game, I didn't feel I needed to get more of them).ezekiel000 wrote:Does anyone know if Ankh, Ankh: Heart of Osiris & Jack Keane are any good? I have been thinking of buying Jack Keane, but I haven't yet and therefore I can't say much about that game.
I don't know if it is a 64 bits application, but all the 32 bits application I use run fine on my 64 bits Linux anyway. Therefore I don't see why this one wouldn't (but I haven't tried as I played the games on a mac). If you want to be sure, Jonatan's suggestion to contact the developers seems a good one.ezekiel000 wrote:Also does anyone know if the Linux version works on 64bit systems?
