More New MD5 Sums

Post by Jorpho »

I also did not see an appropriate thread for these, but I hope this is the right place.

I have purchased a French copy of Loom (DOS EGA floppy version) published by Ubi Soft as part of their Lucasarts Collection. Apparently these were produced on a very low budget - it seems that Ubi Soft used the exact same CD for a number of releases in the series, and just included a different access code for the installer with each different game. They really didn't do a good job of hiding the other data files on the CD, though, so it seems I have a French copy of Maniac Mansion, Indy3, and Monkey Island 1 here too.

Anyway, all four games play perfectly in ScummVM 0.8.0, but ScummVM reports unknown MD5 sums for Indy3 and Loom:

indy3: 89cfc425566003ff74b7dc7b3e6fd469

Loom: 6f8a22bfa397be1f7ed4b74aba0e397e

Am I forgetting anything?

Could you please press "Ctrl-V" in both games and report the version strings ScummVM is displaying?

Best regards

Ok, for LOOM I get

LOOMTM 1.2 French (0) 26.06.90

and for Indy3 it's

Version PC 1.3 8/25/89

Is this unusual?

No, it's not unusual.

However this information helps to tell the various versions apart, and explains the differences.

Thanks for the info.

Best regards

Well, they're clearly not listed in http://www.scummvm.org/documentation.php?view=md5 . Should I submit these in a bug report?

Oh. Indeed they are.

I profess my admiration for the team's alacrity. 8)

Err.. it would be better to use our bug tracker for this, but anyway. You forgot to copy patch.re_ file as well as voices*.rsc.

I was not sure if you were looking for bug reports on daily CVS builds in your tracker on work in progress modules or if you were just looking the MD5 information.

As for the other files I just pointed scummvm at my install dir for the dos exe I will
copy over the other files from the CD and report back when I get home.
