sam and max voices not working, but music is

okay got sam and max to play on scummvm and the music is playing fine but the voices are not. can anyone help me out with this one? please and thank u!

Floppy release doesn't have voice.
Look here.

Or, if you do have the CD version, perhaps you forgot to copy the monster.sou file?

i actually got an error message for that one particular file when i copied and pasted. i'll try to copy the files again, but if i get another error message what should be the next step?

That could mean your CD is scratched or something like that... Maybe buying a new one? :?

okay this is the error message i get wjem trying to copy and paste the monstor.sou file: this request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.


any help with this one?

try cleaning the cd and try it on a different cd-rom.

if it still doesn't work you'll have to buy a new copy.

okay i'll try that but would a dirty cd really cause an I/O error just for all the voices?

HOLY SH*T IT WORKS!!! I CLEANED IT AND IT MIRACULOUSLY DOWNLOADED IT!! thank you for all your guys help. i know im new here and asking a bunch of questions but u have no idea how long these lucasarts games have been collecting dust cuz i could never play them, and since i havent had a computer for the past year or so i could never look into compatible software!

drinks are on me if u ever stop into the Detroit area! lol

probably it's scratched.

such an error means that the device can not read the data of the cd properly and if there is a scratch at that specific place it may well disrupt the reading process.

nice to hear that you made it work.
