The 100 Best Games To Play Today???

Post by Red_Breast »

Just been browsing Edge's 'The 100 Best Games To Play Today'.
I can only find 2 adventure games. Both on the same page. The first Monkey Island at 85 and SamnMax at 82.

I'd say that means that this list isn't worth anything :P.

Nearly every single entry is laughable.

Seriously, Singstar? Silent Hill 2? The Sims 2? Deus Ex? Pokemon? Fable 2? Halo 3? Super Mario 64 on #2?!?

Heh, lists like this are useless, because they don't account for the preferred game genres and taste in general.
Besides, they haven't done their homework. GTAIV is above VC and SA and I can assure that is NOT the way the most gamers feel about it.

Silent Hill 2 is awesome. Best. Horror. Ever.

Those all seem like pretty good games that are still playable today. Singstar isn't to my tastes personally, but I'm told it's a great karaoke game. Personally, I think Mario Galaxy should swap with 64, but that's just me.

To be honest, the article might have worked better without the ranking, presenting itself as 100 games that still hold up today, but not in any particular order.
