List of working games
Hi.
I think that a list of working games on Wii's Port should be useful for everyone.
These are games which worked or not for me:
- Flight of the Amazon Queen (PC CD-ROM) > WORKS
- I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream (PC CD-ROM) > NOT WORKING (black screen)
- Maniac Mansion Enhanced (PC) > WORKS (btw there is no background music, except in the intro, is it normal ?)
- The 7th Guest (PC CD-ROM) > NOT WORKING (returns to Homebrew Channel after pressing "New Game")
- The Dig (PC CD-ROM) > WORKS
- Waxworks (AMIGA) > WORKS (PC CD-ROM version NOT WORKING, scummVM doesn't load the game)
Note: NOT WORKING games run fine on PC's scummVM.

I'm using the last build of scummVM (v0.13.0).Bossk wrote:IHNM and T7G work fine for me.
All ScummVM supported games work fine on the Wii port, dhewg did a great job.
So if you can't get some games running, let's try to find out why. Which build? And does the game run on another platform?
I'm not the only one having compatibility problems with some games (just check the Wii port section) and IHNM and T7G run like a charm on PC port...
I own both original CD-ROM, so I followed the faqs on Wiki's section to make a folder with all necessary files for each games.
I compressed T7G audio tracks and IHNM *.res sounds with Ogg Vorbis encoder,
maybe is it wrong?
Which encoder (and settings)did you use for them?
Cheers

I haven't tried t7G but IHNM works fine.
Start the game, go and do something for about a quarter of an hour, come back and play.
That's with uncompressed .rscs.
One game which didn't work last I tried due to an endian problem is Discworld 2.
A list is good but maybe a list of games that don't work is better. Shorter that's for sure.

I played (and completed) IHNM with compressed datafiles. Initial loading took about 10 seconds orso, which was not too bad.
Like I said, I have tested most games on the Wii and they work fine, depending on the compleness of the scummvm engines themselves.
If a game does not work properly for you, it most likely is another factor besides the Wii port.

I really have no idea how you're running into problems.
I have my copy of the 7th Guest with me now so I just tried it and IHNM with the stable 0.13 and Bossk's most recent build.
http://www.mediafire.com/?nfz321mowmt
IHNM actually takes 3 minutes to start. I seem to remember it taking longer. After selecting 'Start' from the ScummVM GUI to start the game the screen should go black for 3 minutes.
The 7th Guest begun straight away. Been a few years since I saw that unskippable beginning. I couldn't even bring up the virtual keyboard.
About compressed audio.
For 7th Guest CD-DA I extracted to uncompressed .wav and then converted to .ogg (with Foobar2000)
For IHNM I left the files as they were. I don't know if compression would help the loading time at the start. My card is 4GB SDHC but I've had it on vanilla SD as well.
I know it's a pain writing a long post but when I want help I try to describe every step and it's effect. I try to make sure there are no questions left to ask me.
If you want to give it a go it might throw something up.

Thanks I'll give it a try. I have a few games on the go at the moment so I think I'm still only about halfway through it.Bossk wrote:@ Red_Breast
IHNM needs compression for decent loading times.
Edit
I just ran compress_saga with the flac encoder and the game's folder is 438MB.
The game only took around 1.30 - 2 minutes to load.

Well cant actually play some games on it. for example:
Kings Quest 1-4
and one of the best games ever created "Discworld 2" havn't tried DW1 yet but i can only guess???
currently running latest scummVM port for Wii
Tells me that it is not a scumm vm game.
same with KQ1-4
Other games like "DOTT" & "Monkey Island 3" is working just fine.
Any sugestions???
KQ2 and 3 are AGI games, they should have been working in < ScummVM 0.12.
Discworld 2 works fine for me. Same with KQ1 and KQ4 (AGI).
The SCI versions of those games are different, the SCI engine is far from complete (which will take a long time). However, ScummVM should recognize them and at least let you start them.
BTW "The latest build" is too vague. Specify which svn checkout please.
I'll build a new one later today for you to play with.

I'm still unable to play with T7G :/
I followed the faqs to create a game folder with my own CD-Rom
but T7G freeze after the intro (when ghosts come trough the door - also this part has long loading times),
so I downoladed it from the net, but it hangs in the first part of the intro (the book sequence).
I tried those 2 versions (my own from the original CD-Rom and the downlaoded one) on PC and they run well...
I tried with several SD... nothing
