Do I no longer need the Short Game Name?

Post by Cyber Akuma »

I havent updated ScummVM in a LONG time, and noticed that a lot of thigns have changed now.

Can I now name my games something like "Monkey Island 1" or "Loom CD" instead of "monkey" or "loomcd"?

Is there any point to the short game name anymore?

It's still used internally as an identifier in the ScummVM configuration file, and you can use it to start ScummVM with a particular game from the command-line. However, what you usually see in ScummVM is the description of the game, e.g. "The Secret of Monkey Island", instead of "monkey1".

Yes, I know the difference between the description and foldernames. What I am asking was if its not possible to just name the folders whatever you want, because it seems far easier to manage them this way than by their short names.

Uhm, yes... Haven't you almost always been able to do that?:) and it would have taken you about 2 seconds to try it yourself, heh.
