i cant follow the tutorial. it says to move a compress_simon when there isnt one etc . i just cant follow it

also my DOTT files are
MONSTER.SOG not MONSTER.SOU
TENTACLE.000
TENTACLE.001

i've installed scummvm ok

any help please. i just want this game badly

There's a MONSTER.SOG file on your CD? While it would be undeniably cool, and while I'd love to be proven wrong, I've never heard of any legitimate release like that of the game.

but could you still post how ti install it in simple steps for me please.

it should be here thursday at the latest and i'd like to try and get it done straight away.

also in the tutorial it says about a compress_simon.exe that file wasnt in my scumm tools.

it just confuses me even more

I'm not sure which tutorial you mean, but compress_simon.exe was the old name (more than two years ago) for what is now called compress_agos.exe. But it shouldn't be important because it's only for the AGOS engine (which used to be known as the Simon engine), and compression should be optional, not required.

On my floppy disk version I think MONSTER.SOG was mentioned while installing as the current installing file. Once it had installed the whole thing MONSTER.SOU was there instead. MONSTER.SOG is the incomplete version in my opinion. If you have the floppy version it could be because you just picked MONSTER.SOG off of the floppy instead of going through the installation which would complete the file.

No, it's a compressed version of the file. Which is why I'd be surprised if it's included on any legitimate release of the game, because I thought it was only supported by ScummVM, not the original interpreter.

no i mean the files off the original,

ive ordered another copy off ebay on cd.

so it sould have the monster.sou file.

so will i just have to put

MONSTER.SOU
TENTACLE.000
TENTACLE.001

onto the root of my storage card and then open the file with scummVM ?

by the way the ' tutorial is the maunual thats stickied'

a) Copy the following files from the directory you installed
the Scumm Tools in to your Work Directory c:\scumm:
'compress_scumm_sou.exe',
'compress_simon.exe',
'compress_sword1.exe',
'compress_sword2.exe',
'compress_scumm_bun',
'compress_scumm_san'

but it doesnt matter as you said
