hi,
i have a problem with scumm 0.12 (0.13.1 dosent realy work 'cause of a bug with the ini file i think, always get stuck on the save/mc acces screen)
it dosent detect my hdd in the "add game" dialog box. if i turn "reset iop" off/on the only thing that changes is that i can access my usb-stick.
i'm usin free mc boot so i don't have a modchip. scumm is stored on the hdd in a partition called +ScummVM(created with ulaunch) directly in the root directory
(so no sub folder called scumm). broken sword 1 and 2 are in sub folders called bsword and bsword2 in the +ScummVM partition. nearly forgot,
i'm using a pal ps2 scph-50004, original sony 40gb hdd(dont want to swap that out since i'm playing many original games with hdd support)
hope someone can help getting this cool software working
thx to lavo for porting this to the ps2
scumm dose not detect my hdd

I haven't tried the official release of 0.12.0 (as i want to use ScummVM on my fat without a NA), but my tweaked version based on the same sources, runs fine if you replace the cutscenes with the Broken Sword cutscene pack from the website.richi902 wrote:broken sword 1+2 arent booting,
always black screen of death. do i need to make special settings for those
games or can it be the videos in any way?
the vidoes seem to be in mp2 or something.
You'll find it in the game extras download section. Get the pack and the OGG audio add on.
If you fancy comparing my version you'll find it at:-

If you try mine though you'll need to convert the OGG to MP3 as i left out tremor/vorbis support.
thanks, but i discoverd it was something else, i had to put
a disc in the drive a audio cd will do just fine.
now i have a other problem with brokensword 2,
the voices arent working. i have a sub-folder called SPEECH
in the brokensword2 root folder and in there are speech1.clu
and speech2.clu . brokensword 1 is working fine with voices
(besides that pitch problem lol, already tried this "pitch fix"
version but it results in no voices at all). thanks again for
the one who can help me!
edit: forget it, just moved the speech files in the root
folder.......works!

If you are unsure what files are required where, check the wiki at:-richi902 wrote: brokensword 1 is working fine with voices

I'd still recommend that you replace the MP2 files with the cutscene pack as they are of higher quality.
I'm surprised that my version gave you no speech in BS1, as i have tested BS1, if you don't mind - Could you answer a few questions?
Did you try my modified 0.12.0 or 0.13.1?
Did you rename the speech files to speech1 and speech2?
Is the file extension to your speech files .clu, .cl3, .clg or .clf?
I've tested .clu (uncompressed) and .cl3 (MP3) and for me both work fine. The other two .clg (vorbis) and .clf (FLAC) won't work as they are not included. MP3 version works best from USB because of transfer rate, storage and overhead.
I'll upload another version of 0.12.0 soon with some more changes, while Max irons out the bugs in 0.13.1. So any problems with my builds would be good to know.
Thanks

Thanks for answering. I'd forgot about .clv - it's another name for .clg, in other words vorbis (not included in my released version).richi902 wrote:i used your modified 0.12.0 version.
yes i did, i have speech1.clv and speech2.clv in a
sub-folder called SPEECH, (is .clv right? 'cause in bsword2 they are .clu)
however with the standart version they work besides that pitch problem.
I must confess that i left it out originally because of laziness - there is no vorbis library in the PS2SDK. But i've added vorbis support now. I'll compress my BS1 to vorbis audio and if everything seems ok i'll upload a new version soon.
About the difference between the .clu and .clv; .clu is uncompressed - same as on the original cds, .clv has been compressed with ScummVM tools to make the audio vorbis encoded - much smaller. You probably just forgot you had done that originally

Hopefully you'll find George has stopped inhaling helium .
About BS 2.5 - doesn't seem like it will appear in ScummVM for the forseeable future. Have you tried Virtualbox? It now has OpenGL acceleration for Windows XP guests.
