So I played through MI1 and MI2 recently using your emulator on my Vista machine. I loaded straight from the "Monkey Island Madness" disc each time since when I copied the files to my harddrive and tried to play them via SCUMMVM, it said they were missing sound files or something and it saved me a lot of trouble to just use the disc.
However, I've currently been playing MI3 from the disc and now that I'm up to where I need to change discs, I can't continue. I copied the files to my harddrive and, this time, I can start the game with sound intact and no warning/error messages. Unfortunately, I don't have access to my save files from the last half-play-thru. How can I get my save file back on this copy of the game?

Re: Monkey Island CD problems
If you added the game a second time, while the first one was still in the list of game, the second got a different internal id than the first. The internal id is what ScummVM uses to tell the games apart, and in most engines it's also used to generate the filenames of the saved games.JTurnblat wrote:Unfortunately, I don't have access to my save files from the last half-play-thru. That probably came out sounding rather confusing, though. What I would try in your place would be to remove The Curse of Monkey Island completely from ScummVM's list of games, and then add it again. That might give it the correct id.
If that doesn't work, there are other ways to proceed but they might take a bit more effort.
No, the game ID is not stored in the savegame itself, it's used to determine the save game name. The game ID can usually be found from the "Edit game" dialogVampire wrote:Is it also stored in the savegame to which internal ID it belongs? Otherwise he could also save a game in the new instance to find out the expected savegame name and then rename the other savegames.
If you're playing straight off the discs, then you missed the part where you were supposed to copy the required files on your hard drive. ScummVM doesn't handle multiple discs.cmoretrix wrote:I'm also having this issue...
I have only added this game once and when it comes to the point where disk two is needed it crashes... have I missed something critical?
