Sam and Max no voices

Post by hungryhobo »

Hi everyone! I LOVE the old sam and max game and I really wanted to replay it again after so many years. So I have the game now and the scumm engine the sound effects and the music work but the voices do not.

Has anyone encountered this problem and/or does anyone have a fix? Thanks so much for the help!

I'm not sure what version. But I have Scumm 0.13.1 and on the screen it is called Sam & Mad Hit the Road (Floppy/DOS/English) Does that help?

I'm not sure. Can you give me a link to the correct version and I'll uninstall this version? I appreciate it

Lol no. That's piracy. Rule #0. You have the floppy version, though, which doesn't have speech. Only the CD-ROM version has speech.

Bah! I used to have the game.. I think I've bought it twice over the years but I don't have it now. I guess I'll look for the cd version. Thanks for the advice

Doesn't matter if you've owned the original in the past or not. We do not support pirated copies. You will have to buy the games again if you want any support here.

Fortunately, Sam & Max Hit the Road is one of the games that was re-released as a "LucasArts Classic" (at least in Europe), so it should be comparatively cheap and easy to find.
