Simon the sorcerers puzzle pack in separate folders?

Post by Longcat »

I have Simon the sorcerers puzzle pack and I want to put the different parts of it in separate folders for ScummVM, but the datafiles sheet only lists the files needed for the whole pack.
Is this possible or do the separate parts share some of the same *.vga or *.wav files?

I've run into the same issue

Post by SlimG »

I'm having the same problem, I'll explain what I've encountered so far.

"Coffee Break Quickies" seems to be a compilation of "jumble" and "puzzle", how do I know what files in "Coffee Break Quickies" belongs to "jumble" and "puzzle"?

"Swampy Adventures" and "DIMP" won't properly in ScummVM because of a missing 0022.vga, but they're installed without this file in Windows ... is this a ScummVM error?

The file "music" has to be copied from the CD ("puzzle pack/music") but Datafiles does not explain what games should contain this file.

Ps. I'm aware that this game putting all four games in one folder solves all the issues caused by separation, but they are nontheless four individual games and should be stored separated imo.

No *.pak files are even loaded for these games by ScummVM, are you sure that wasn't a missing *.VGA file? which you failed to copy from the CD.

The games are installed into a single directory, by the original installer too.

The required data files aren't limited to only the files installed by the original installer either, the original games would still load some files directly from the CD too.

My bad, I meant 0011.vga

Thanks for the info, you are right, I haven't copied the *.vga files from the CD to each of the directories.

But still the question remains: what files belongs to "jumble" and "puzzle"?
