Sampled music & sound effects for mac versions of games?

Post by magicthread »

Hi. I have a few mac versions of lucasarts adventures (sam & max, fate of atlantis, day of the tentacle, all from the lucasarts archive that I got years and years ago) that I ripped so I could play them. I can't seem to be able to find an option to enable the sampled instruments & other miscellaneous samples that they used—the whole experience is really oddly sterile without them. Is there a way I can enable them?
And if not, is their support planned sometime in the future?

Edit: I've found something related to this, but I don't know what came of it. http://osdir.com/ml/games.devel.scummvm ... 00068.html

No support for the custom sampled instruments used in these games is available in ScummVM. And I am not aware of anybody working on it. There are feature requests for this, but in the past 4-5 years, nobody showed up with both the ability *and* interest to work on this.

Oh and that email you refer to (written by me), talks about Monkey Island 1, which uses a completely different system than the games you asked about. No relation there whatsoever.

Indeed, I have the interest but not the ability so I have no trouble waiting for someone who does. Scummvm is still a fantastic (miraculous, considering what it's blossomed into) program and I appreciate all of the work that's gone into it. thanks for the response & clarification, fingolfin.
