Spy fox 2 save path error message and crash

I run a Mac OS X 10.3.9 and I am trying to run Spyfox 2. Whenever I try to run it I get the messages: No Valid Save/Load Folder is set! Please use the 'Choose Save Folder' menu to select one. The game will them start and play and then when you try to save it displays the same message and then crashes when you click on the message. I have the default save folder, and I also later set up the save folder to show the actual path to the default folder, with the same result. I also tried removing the game from Scummvm and reinstalling it, no luck.

Spyfox 1 and 3 work fine.

I get the same error message in starring Freddi Fish 2, but 1 and 4 work and save fine.
