Fate of Atlantis save/load game screen (F1) key doesn't work

Post by amrish »

Hello,

FoA launches just fine, but I'm unable to access the save/load game menu, normally accessed by pressing F1.
The other in-game keys, such as "P" for pick up, "C" for close etc, seem to be working, but for the life of me I can't get to the options menu..

Any ideas?
I'm running scummVM 0.11.1 (Win) and the talkie version of FoA.

Edit : Woof, F5 also works!!! Also make sure you toggle through the "F Lock" button on your keyboard if you have one..

Hello guys

Just discovered ScummVM some days ago and after I finished "Beneath A Steel Sky" (*Awesome game! Brought back a lot of memories) yesterday, I started "Indiana Jones - Fate of Atlantis".
Now, I encountered the same problem:
The option screen will not open!
I tried F1 and F5, both are not working. Also, no combination of alt+ or cmd+ is working. F8 for restart is working and in BASS F5 was working without any problem. After reading the FaQ, I tried the alt+1/9 method but unfortunately without a result. The game itself is running smothly, including "simple" shortcuts like "i" or any action (talk, pick up, e.g.).
Anybody got an idea?

I am running ScummVM 1.0.0 on a MacBook 2G (White). FoA is the DEMO/DOS/ENGLISH version.

*Pls, don´t tell me you are unable to save in the demo-version! ;D

Cheers

I don't remember, and since I'm in the middle of moving I have most of my stuff packed up in boxes. However, in the past some users have had problems with the operating system hi-jacking the function keys for other things. There have been other threads about that, e.g. this one.

But I don't know if that's anything like your problem, of course.

Thanks for your reply, eriktorbjorn!

Meanwhile I solved the problem by receiving the FLOPPY version with a working F5 menu ;D

Maybe it is true that you can´t safe in the DEMO...
