I am very aware this is not supported yet nor is it a focus, but I did see on the scummvm data pages that there was at least some minimal playtoons game support. I actually had the first 4 of these, so I thought I'd pull them out and see how they behaved.
All my versions are cd - I don't know if there was a floppy release. My version of ScummVM is an SVN build from a January 30th. I have not updated as I do not want to loose the in progress game support during the testing phase that is currently open.
Uncle Archibald says unrecognized version:

archi.stk "00d8274519dfcf8a0d8ae3099daea0f8", 5532135
The Case of the Counterfeit Collaborator is unrecognized:

spirou.stk "993737f112ca6a9b33c814273280d832", 9825760
The Secret of the Castle does start up.
The Mandarine Prince does start up.
I copied all 4 games into one folder to see what would happen (since I noticed it was looking for disk.001 through disk.004. It recognized parts 3 and 4 as options to load. Once I started one of those versions I was able to select games 1 or 2 and play around with them from there.
I can make a bug report out of this, although since its not even supported yet I didn't think that would make much sense. it is more of just a heads up to Dr. McCoy, hopefully this info is helpful.

Re: Playtoons
There wasn't any progress in Playtoons since then anyway.scoriae wrote:My version of ScummVM is an SVN build from a January 30th. I have not updated as I do not want to loose the in progress game support during the testing phase that is currently open.
Which versions exactly are that? Language, special release, etc.?scoriae wrote:Uncle Archibald says unrecognized version:

Yeah, unfortunately, that doesn't work as intended, since the scripts are a bit stupid there (Strangerke and I are as disappointed as you are about that).scoriae wrote:I copied all 4 games into one folder to see what would happen (since I noticed it was looking for disk.001 through disk.004.
Maybe something can be hacked in later. No promises though, since trying to deceive fixed game scripts is hard.
Since this is an original scripts limitation, this report would get rejected, too. Sorry .scoriae wrote:I can make a bug report out of this

I just checked the disks, and both files are the exact same sizes. I recopied them over, and ran them through scummvm again and got the same hash checks.
I only tried copying them all into the same directory once, and when i did that I did it in a test directory. I retained the original files in their own folders for the 4 games.
The versions look to be standard CD windows releases in English. I don't see any markings that would suggest they are special editions or budget releases. I only have the cds and the cd cases however, not the original boxes as I bought them used at half price books (like most of my humongous titles).
