Hello! I am brand new here, and have just gotten into playing the old games from my childhood again (sudden wave of nostalgia hit me )! However, I am having a bit of a problem (I know this isn't to do with ScummVM, but hopefully someone here can help!)
I managed to dig out of my closet some old games, such as my Quest for Glory anthology, the Dig, and Indiana Jones Fate of Atlantis. My question involves the MIDI output in DOSBox.
I am using a MIDI yoke to redirect my MIDI sounds to Timidity++, in order to use a nice soundfont. This is working GREAT for ScummVM, as well as windows media player for .MID files. However, I cannot seem to get DOSBox to do the same thing.
I have confirmed this is not working for DOSBox by creating a ScummVM profile for Indiana Jones Atlantis, as well as a DOSBox profile for the same game using D-Fend Reloaded frontend. When I start the game with ScummVM, the music is using the new soundfont, however DOSbox is not. I have tried manually editing the config files to tell the MIDI to output to the MIDI Yoke 1 with no success.
Obviously, I will use ScummVM for Fate of Atlantis, however I would like to play my Quest for Glory games with higher quality music as well!
Sorry for the long post, could anyone possibly help? Thanks!
(PS, ScummVM is amazing, thanks to all who work to develop it!)
Help with DOSBox MIDI output please!
