SCI Pre-Release Testing

Game: Quest for Glory III: Wages of War
Game Version: Dos/English
ScummVM Version: 1.2.0SVN 51808
OS: Windows 7 x64
Problems: It is completable now, hooray! Most of the bigger bugs have been fixed (thanks md5), but I found the following bugs:
3040778 -- Minor graphical (layering) glitch.
3040722 -- Crash during a conversation.
3040616 -- A music bug that I think might be related to overarching issues in SCI 1.1, as similar things also happen in KQ5CD and Freddy Pharkas.
3040579 -- Awari game seems to crash only when a game ends with the opponent moving a single piece into his home.
3040570 -- An animation gets stuck/doesn't play.
Also encountered three glitches previously reported by alexbevi: 3039768, 3039757, and 3039368.
Since this game seems to still be a bit glitchy and it's impossible to overlap, I'd suggest getting playthroughs of all three professions. I'll try to run through all three games as a fighter later (once QFG1VGA combat is playable).

Game: Leisure Suit Larry 3
Game Version: DOS/English
ScummVM Version: 1.2.0svn51733
Operating System: Windows XP Media Center 32
Game is completable (full score). I encountered a few glitches in the music but that might also be because I played with the MT-32 emulation. And I am not sure about this, but there might have been strange colors while Larry was dancing on stage. It was like the spotlights were working but the audience was not in the dark.

Game: Quest for Glory 1 VGA
Version: 2.0, DOS VGA, (Quest for Glory Anthology 1 - 4)
ScummVM Version: ScummVM 1.2.0svn51823 (Aug 7 2010 11:46:12)
Operating System: Windows XP
Still not completable because of the combat buttons. They don't seem to work at all anymore. Tried playing as a Fighter. They didn't work in a random fight with a brigand, and they didn't work against the first goblin in the goblin area. I'm mentioning this because I see the game as 'Needs to be Retested' on the game list. See Bug: 3036756

Did you file a bug report?ponytear wrote:Game not completable because the game keeps telling me I don't have the knife when I try to cut the grass.
Just to make sure, I tried to play in DOSBox and I could get the grass without any problem. I also tried LSL3 English (1.003 Oct 27 1989) and I could get the grass too (I haven't played further though).
I see that KQ5 VGA (floppy, English) has been marked as completable in the wiki. It's not. While it seems to share most of its bugs with the EGA version (which I guess makes sense, since they were developed at the same time, contrary to the non-English versions and the CD version), and while the EGA version is now completable, the VGA version seems to have an extra bug (#3041134) which makes it crash early into the ending sequence. So still not fully completable, though it's definitely getting there.
I'll report again here once the game is finally completable.
(Also, I filed bug #3041137.)

Isn't saying 'it's not' completeable a bit much?
I can't see much difference in it and calling the person who completed it a liar. Why would somebody do that?
I've posted games as completeable because I managed to reach the end. But somebody else could play it and not be able to finish it. That's OK. Remember adventure games usually have more than one method to solve a problem.
So maybe you didn't complete it but that doesn't mean it's not completeable.
Completeable is one of many stages in testing. A milestone is hit once completeable is reached and the devs will hope that they are over the worse of it.
That's my understanding of it.

I haven't called anyone a liar. In the wiki, the line corresponding to my report says that the game is completable, even though for me it's not. It's just a slight mistake made when updating the wiki, which I'm reporting so that the list can be accurate, nothing more. I'm certainly not accusing anyone of anything!Red_Breast wrote:Kurufinwe
