Can't get space quest to work!?

Post by Veritas21885 »

I have SQ 2 and 4 and I can get my original copies to work-but the remakes(the VGA ones) to not lag. The work fine but it seems that they lag horribly? These are legit versions so I don't seem to understand why it lags? I also have the dig, indian jones and bass and they work flawlessly?

It is not quite clear what is "the lag" in your case. Also which ScummVM version is that? And another question, do the games "lag" on your desktop computer (with desktop version of ScummVM)?

The Dig, BASS and SCI are based on different engines and have completely independent bugs and features. So it is irrelevant in this case that first two work for you.

I'm useing the 1.1.1 vorbis for android and it works perfect. I didn't even know there was a comp version of scummvm lol. I try in on my comp once I get home, but as far as the lag goes-it run fine and everything works but when you click to go somewhere or a cutscene seem to slow down and then gets jumpy(lag) is super super annoying

That one is old, and SCI support was bad there. I recommend to get 1.2.0pre build for proper SCI games experience.

Actually SCI support was non-existent in 1.1.1

To be precise it wasn't officially supported, still some Linux distributions (edit:) for example decided to enable all engines, thus also SCI.

Unless I am mistaken, the Android port is an "external" port by a 3rd party developer that isn't maintained by the ScummVM team. It seems you will have to wait until 1.2.0 is released for the main program and then by whoever develops the Android version to be able to use it.
