Extremely slow mouse in fullscreen - Ubuntu 10.10

Post by scobes »

Uh... pretty much what the title says. Both the 1.1.0 packaged version and the daily builds have an unplayably slow mouse in fullscreen, but work fine windowed. Any ideas?

What is your video card chip manufacturer and model? (Intel, ATI, NVidia)
Do you know what drivers are used (in case of ATI and NVidia there are open source and proprietary drivers)?
What resolution is your screen?
On what resolution scaler (1x, 2x or 3x) with what game does the problem occur?
Have you tried other games and/or other resolution scalers?
Have you tried fullscreen mode with other libSDL backed software (DOSBox is a good one to try)?

Video card: Intel GMA950 (2007ish Macbook)
Standard kernel drivers (2.6.35-22-generic)
Screen res is 1280x800
It seems to be slightly better on the normal scaler than on 3x, but only slightly, it's still a huge pain.
Tried normal, 2x, 3x, advmame3x, hq3x. Happens in all games and even in the games menu.
I get a similar problem in Dosbox, but I can wind up the mouse sensitivity there.

Turns out it's an SDL issue. I can work around it by setting SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE=0 before launching ScummVM. Thanks a lot, it would have been ages before it occurred to me to check that.
