Upcoming iPhone port of the Gobliiins trilogy by Bulkypix

Is it going to use ScummVM at all, or it's a completely unrelated port with new code? The ScummVM developers were contacted by Bulkypix, or received any information about it? Sven?

Yes, it is going to use ScummVM. We were contacted by them beforehand, they provided sources for our evaluation, put appropriate wording into About screen, and overall are quite GPL-aware.

Is the GPL version ScummVM use compatible with the locked down app store? There's a big brouhaha about VLC at the moment.

In this particular usage, yes. I.e. all game content is prepackaged and not downloaded later. which is prohibited.

I thought more the issue was that the appstore license wasn't compatible with the GPL.

And the 7th Guest version now available on iTunes? Is it related to ScummVM at all?

No relation at all. They've built it based on their original source code.
