According to the versions, though, every game considered SCI01 has a version number of 1.0. Except for KQ1 which has a version number starting with S.

What? Where do you see this? KQ1 SCI DOS has the "S.old.???" field. There are also supposedly 0.001.??? games (QFG1, I believe). Other than that, there are no other SCI01 games. See here for more info.

http://sierrahelp.com/SCI/Wiki/index.ph ... ames#SCI01 I believe it's from the FreeSCI documentation.

I just assumed that games everyone calls SCI01 (KQ1SCI, QFG2, SQ3 German) were so called because those games were really version 1 but because they are EGA/Parser they're called SCI01. In the same way that there technically is no SCI32 but rather SCI2, SCI2.1, etc.[/b]

Just to clear this up a bit (sorry for the late reply)... For technical reasons we had to split up several categories. Currently SCI01 refers only to the S.old.* series of interpreters.
