COMI - can't turn off subtitles

I find subtitles distracting and want to turn them off, but no matter what I do I still get subtitles. The "Text and Speech" option is set to just Speech. I tried toggling to Speech and Subtitles and then back to just Speech, but that didn't help. I checked the scummvm.ini file and under the COMI section is has "subtitles=false." Still I get subtitles. Anyone know what I can do to get rid of em?

At a quick glance, I wasn't able to reproduce this. Which version of ScummVM are you using?

Also, did you change it with the "Options..." or the "Edit Game..." dialog? The former has the default settings, while the latter has the per-game settings which override the defaults. Therefore, if you changed it in Options it might not have any effect, if you have - accidentally or deliberately - changed the corresponding setting for the specific game.

Version is 1.2.1

It is set to Speech in the global Options as well as in the COMI specific options. Running in Windows 7 64bit, maybe that has something to do with it.

Also I notice I posted this to the wrong forum, I meant to put it in Help & Support. Sorry bout that.

Hmm... Apparently it works as intended in the development version of ScummVM, but not in 1.2.1. I'm guessing it's related to this bug report, even if it was reported for The Dig, not The Curse of Monkey Island.

Indeed. I downloaded the 1.3.0 SVN version and it works OK. Thanks.
