And for some reason GOG managed to get a version either without foreign languages or isn't able to show them. I'd really like to shop on GOG but their inability to get versions for foreign languages really bugs me.

DotEmu has English, French, German, Italian and Spanish versions, but only the Windows executables.

And it looks like GOG.com has only the English version with the DOS executable.

What a mess

I've heard that they dubbed the German version (which is not on GOG). This just doesn't make sense. In this game, every one is supposed to speak in his native language (unless talking foreign occasionally), and if it is supposed to be understood, there are subtitles.

IIRC the main character plus the train workers (Mertens, etc.) are dubbed.

And all the subtitles and hardcoded text in most sprites/backgrounds (journal, etc.) are translated.

It's funny how some characters animations are retrying endlessly sometimes. The conductor when you try the buzzer on a door is very funny, looks like he is in a rave getting it on.

Alexi in the dinning car looks like he is banging his head against the table when he sips the soup.
 svn i know.
