Maniac Mansion PC Speaker only?

Hi I'm curious about playing Maniac Mansion with ScummVM with the sound coming only from the PC speaker. Is this possible to do?

ScummVM only emulates the PC speaker (for some games, e.g. the aforementioned Maniac Mansion), but it doesn't have any way of using the actual, physical PC speaker itself if that's what you mean.

They don't? How then are you supposed to hear the system warning beeps when the mobo fails to post?

My new system has one but it's tiny and encased in a small black cylindrical piece of plastic.

My PCs all have one. The latest is about 1.5 years old. Maybe, some stores sell them without PC speaker, but they still should have the connector on the board nevertheless.

Manufacturers already thought of this. Thus, some BIOS versions are able to play error messages on the onboard's audio line out.

My PC doesn't have one. I can't remember the last time I've seen one installed on a PC I bought. Maybe there are still some out there that have pc speakers.

Most new boards just have the header connector allowing to connect a piezo speaker. But out-of-the-box they don't come with one...
