Full Throttle - Old Mine Road

When playing Full Throttle on my HP-Palm Pre 2 using ScummVM (1.3.0), I am running into a technical problem on the Old Mine Road.

First of all, in order to cycle through weapons, you need to right click. However, the right-click functionality for webos (clicking and holding for >0.5 seconds) is not working when on the Old Mine Road.

I was able to bypass this problem by holding shift-V to win all of the fights, but when I finally got the cavefish goggles, I cannot use them (they also need to be activated by a right click).

I cannot go any further in the game without figuring out what to do here, so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
