The One Ring
No, it's not Tolkien's Ring, it's the Ringworld. Join Quinn, Miranda, and Seeker-of-Vengeance as they seek to unravel the mysteries of the Ringworld and find a way to stop the insane Kzinti Patriarch.
The ScummVM Team is pleased to announce support for Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch. So grab your copy of the DOS Floppy or CD (original CD release/First Wave re-release), start playing in the latest daily build of ScummVM, and help us with the testing while enjoying this classic science fiction adventure.
Of course, all bugs should be reported to our bug tracker. For further information, check out the bug submission guidelines. If anyone could also please submit some screenshots, we would be grateful.
Good luck finding the elusive stasis boxes.

Re: The One Ring
Which data files are needed?
It would be great if, on a new engine/game support, this threads here would hold the data files/music tracks needed as there is normally no update to the web "Game data files" yet.
I have the Tsunami Media release from 1993 and copied the "RING" folder which contains of
INSTALL.RLB 9.017
RING.RLB 37.847.618
TSAGE.RLB 32.235
TSAGE.CFG 442
and a COPYLIB.EXE, INSTALL.EXE, MANUAL.BAT, RING.EXE, RWDOCO and SETUP.BAT which i assume aren't needed.
I don't have sound or music but that may be not implemented yet.
Cool new engine
Thanks a lot

Re: The One Ring
You only need three files: ring.tlb, tsage.rlb, and tsage.cfg.Raziel wrote:Which data files are needed?
Both music and sound effects have been implemented - I've tested both on the both the original floppy and CD releases, as well as on the later First Wave compilation CD version, and all three play music correctly. I'm not sure why you wouldn't get any sound output.

For all practical purposes, they're identical. From the top of my head, the only difference is that the original CD release has some bonus audio tracks with an interview with Larry Niven and some CD quality versions of a few of the in-game songs.Longcat wrote:Is the first wave rerelease or other releases "better" or different from the original cd version?
