Prepare ship for testing speed!
Release testing is over now. Thanks to all who helped out!
Fasten your seatbelts because another ScummVM release is just around the corner!
However, we need your help first in testing out a few games before we can release. In addition to the two new games for this release, Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos and Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch, we have a few other games that need testing. Please take a look at our wiki page to see which games need a playthrough.
As with all release testing, you'll need a daily build to get started. If you happen to find any bugs, please report them on the bug tracker. Once you complete one of the games, please let us know right here in this forum post so we can throw the results up on the wiki page. Further information can be found in the release testing guidelines.
And Strangerke would like to remind you to grab a couple of screenshots of Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos and Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch for us and submit them according to our guidelines.

Nice Spaceballs reference :)

It's too bad I can't add a striked out "ludicrous" before "testing" on the forums, but I'll liveEnder wrote:Nice Spaceballs reference
Which version of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis do you need tested? There were 2 versions of Fate of Atlantis and Last Crusade released, "the graphic adventure" and "the action game" (4 games in all). by the way, does anyone have the answers for the code wheel in Fate of Atlantis action game? don't have the manual anymore, would be most appreciated.
Forum rule #0 applies to your question about the code wheel.resin wrote:Which version of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis do you need tested? Apart since this is about adventure games, the answer is: the graphic adventure.
There have been changes to the AGI engine, since some AGI games didn't run perfectly. Since that might have affected a few more Sierra AGI games they are up for testing again.BobbinT wrote:Why those sierra AGI listed too? Aren't they suppossed to run perfectly?
That's also true, but it's still the graphics adventure.BobbinT wrote:And I think the Indy required for testing is the amiga version.

Nope. It's up to the engine developers, and no one mentioned that they wanted those added.Truus999 wrote:As an aside In the news file there are several other games mentioned that arn+t on the release testing page

Well, Conquests of the Longbow Amiga should be the same as other Amiga SCI games, with the only difference being the extra 32 halfbrite palette colors. It wouldn't hurt to test it, but it *should* be OK (apart from the music, as the Amiga driver needs more work), since there have been no major changes to Amiga SCI games since the previous release.
Since the respective developers that implemented support for Blue's Birthday, sound in Winnie and the Mac version of 7th Guest didn't mention that they need testing for these games, they should be OK as well.
Not sure about AGOS/SCUMM - which changes are you referring to?

Regarding cabinet file support in AGOS: this feature should be working without issues as problems with it would be apparent immediately - the games in question would crash or exit unexpectedly when started.
As for the music support... these are sound drivers, so music can either sound right or wrong, i.e. from what I understand the drivers and/or music code themselves are an add-on feature and they shouldn't affect the games themselves (unless I'm horribly mistaken here).
This is the main reason why no testing is required for these games, however, you're always free to test them out Testing results are always welcome.
