Japanese Curse of Monkey Island

I've heard mention that a Japanese version of The Curse of Monkey Island was released. Can anyone confirm this? Also, do you know if the speech was recorded in Japanese, or if it was released with subtitled English?

I've heard rumors for years, but as far as I know, it does not exist.

If it were to be released, it would just be Japanese subtitles like the Chinese and Korean versions of it.
