Full Throttle: Missing Line of Dialogue?

Post by tikitang »

So I was playing Full Throttle in the most recent version of ScummVM (1.4.1) and I noticed that when Ben first enters the Mine Road and encounters Father Torque, a line of dialogue seems to be missing.

In the original game, when Ben's bike first pulls up alongside Father Torque's, Ben turns his head and says "Father Torque!" before the game cuts to the "conversation scene" where you can ask him questions. After it does so, Ben immediately says "I haven't seen you since you retired from the Polecats!"

When I played FT the other day, for the first time in years, I noticed that the "Father Torque!" line seems to have disappeared. Ben looks over at him but says nothing and no text appears either, then it immediately cuts to the conversation screen and Ben says "I haven't seen you since you retired from the Polecats!", but he doesn't call out his name first as he used to.

Has anyone else noticed this, and does anyone have any suggestions? I tried running the game on two different computers (one a PC, the other a Mac) with a fresh reinstallation, but had the same issue.

Thanks,

You're right, the sound isn't playing. It switches from "fight mode" to "dialogue mode" without playing the clip. Please, file a bug report. If you don't have a save file, I'll add one after.

Thanks for the quick response. I made a bug report and attached Save File.

So, forgive my ignorance of this procedure, but now that the bug has been "fixed", what happens next? Do we wait until the next release of ScummVM, or is there a specific file to download?

Thanks,

You can download the latest daily night version here:
http://buildbot.scummvm.org/builds.html

It should be fixed in that version.
