Hi,
(unfortunately) my phone has only three buttons.
I believe, this is the case for a lot of new phones.
example: http://www.handy-deutschland.de/img/alc ... _992_d.jpg
There are three buttons:
- back
- home
- recent apps
Long holding home will also show recent apps.
And long holding recent apps button will show menu.
Reading in docu: "Menu button held for 0.5s: Toggle virtual keyboard"
That's not possible on my phone.
Would it be possible to use the "recent app"- or "menu"-button instead?
Or maybe would it possible to use holding back-button???
If not, how about showing a visual-button named "toggle virtual keyboard" in the options-menu?
Or implement it by moving the mouse in any corner, showing a pulldown- or popupmenu, allowing show keyboard?
There are many ways possible.
I hope someone could help.

Edit:
Oh, I'm so sorry.
Of course I've searched my question in this forum, but didn't found it and so I even made my registration here.
But in the meantime, I've found the same thing in this thread http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=11818
Need virtual keyboard without having menu-button
Moderator: ScummVM Team
There are at least 3 thread about this problem... and some are very old.
I really hope ScummVM Android team will finally do something QUICKLY because it's very limiting for some games (e.g. Monkey Island 2 won't even start: you have to enter codes).
All we need is an additional keyboard button on the F5 menu to call it without the current badly implemented device-specific menu-press trick...
As I've already said here: http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?p=74609#74609
It's a shame no programmer cares about this BIG issue in the Android port...

Shortly I've detected (in the thread Keyboard input in Sierra AGI games), that there is an other build, which implemented the feature we need, solving all our problems: ScummVM-SDL
Unfortunately it creates new ones: the touching didn't work as well as with the "original" build. After touching and moving your finger on the screen, there is some disturbing delay.
Somthing other:
in the meantime I'm using MessagEase Keyboard
With this application, the virtual keaboard is also opening with the original ScummVM build in the game MI2. It's opening when the protection code has to be entered, and it's also opening when the save-dialog appears.
Still it not open in the game Gobliiins.
