Linux Mint Software Manager: ScummVM
Hi, in the Software Manager the ScummVM version is 1.4.1-1. Is it meant to be updated?

Re: Linux Mint Software Manager: ScummVM
Unless any of the ScummVM developers also happens to be a package maintainer for Linux Mint, I don't think we have any influence over which version they package.k3nny wrote:Hi, in the Software Manager the ScummVM version is 1.4.1-1. Is it meant to be updated?
Perhaps you could use the official Debian/Ubuntu packages from our download page:

+1 to what md5 said... Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu/Debian and uses .deb, so should be able to use our precompiled Debian/Ubuntu deb packages:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Mint
Unfortunately, as Debian emphasises stability and games are low priority, they are lagging our releases and the distributions such as Ubuntu and Mint which are tracking Debian are also lagging:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/games/scummvm
v1.5.0 is not present in any of the standard repositories for Debian based distributions as far as I can find... :/
I previously hit this issue as the RPi's default Raspbian distribution has v1.4.1 due to this and the Debian packaging for v1.4.1 causes issues as due to a packaging error, they have omitted the external engine datafiles *facepalm*.
See this thread for information and the options for dealing with this:

As we have no direct control over the distribution packagers, all we can do is provide the packages on our download page... and we should look at adding the RPi ARM variant .debs as an option in addition to Debian Vanilla and Ubuntu type packages! Hope this helps.

If you're using Ubuntu, going to the terminal and using 'sudo apt-get install libfluidsynth1' should work. Other distros have something similar but I'm not familiar with the commands.k3nny wrote:libfluidsynth1 needs to be installed as well. I could get it from Software Manager?
If libfluidsynth1 isn't found, you can use apt-cache search libfluidsynth to find the correct name of the library you need to install, and then use apt-get.
