Could someone explain me the benefits of the OpenGL rendering methods in the ScummVM daily releases.
As I can see in OpenGL mode I can change the window size with the mouse.

You just pretty much answered your own question.xadox wrote: As I can see in OpenGL mode I can change the window size with the mouse.

Re: Benefits of OpenGL redering
One benefit is support for hardware accelerated scaling through the use of OpenGL.xadox wrote:Could someone explain me the benefits of the OpenGL rendering methods in the ScummVM daily releases.

I am not sure what you talk about but it seems that no one worked on that last year. So, there was no development there as part of GSoC 2012.aculotarpa wrote:In past year GSOC, someone worked on refactoring the OpenGL backend and adding support for bsnes-style shaders: there was any further development?

You are right, I remembered wrong, but someone worked actually on shader support on GSoC 2012!
Eric Culp: his primary goal was the refactoring of the scaler plugin system, later he added shader support to OpenGL backend; on his blog he documented his work.
