Full Throttle won't work..

So i'm pretty far into the game, to be specific the part where you get those gang members goggles to locate their secret hide out, and whenever I hit tab to put the goggles on, it cuts to the animation scene for 2 seconds and boom, the game freezes and a screen comes up saying "console is ready, type exit to continue, debugging blah blah" and when I type exit and hit enter the entire program just closes. I really hope theres a way to fix this, because i'm really into this game and I was really looking forward to downloading some more games to play through scumm, but if I can't solve this i'm not even gonna bother getting half way into another game to run into this problem again. please help!!

Where exactly are you going to download more games from?
And where did you download Full Throttle from?

I got full throttle from a torrent site called piratebay,and as for other games just google. Or the same site

One other reason we do not tolerate "Warez" is that most copies from those kind of sites tend to be damaged or corrupted in various ways leading to these kinds of crashes.
We can't fix these and they waste our developer's times.

My copy of Full Throttle from CD works perfectly fine...
