Aspect Ratio problem for KQ6

Post by talkshow »

Hi,

New member here. I got the KQ4-KQ6 collection from GOG and added in the high-resolution portraits so I need to run it on ScummVM vs DOSBOX. My problem is, the resolution is stretched in widescreen mode no matter what options I pick in the ScummVM control panel.

I've even gone into NVidia Control Panel to make sure aspect ratio under Scaling is checked for both Desktop and GPU, but that doesn't help either.

I'm trying to play KQ6 (and probably all the other Sierra titles) in 4:3, fullscreen, so there are two black pillars on the sides. It looks worse if things are stretched.

How can I get this to work? Thanks!

For kq6 win version, under the graphics options, I have the graphics mode set to normal (no scaling). I have render mode set to default, and the fullscreen mode checked. The Aspect ratio correction should be greyed out. With these settings, it plays at the 4:3 aspect resolution on my widescreen monitor

envisagedOne,

I have tried your suggestions, unfortunately, I have the same stretched result. The Aspect Ratio correction is NOT greyed out and is clickable.

I am running ScummVM 1.6 from Jul '13.

UPDATE!

I fiddled with some controls on my Dell monitor - it had a "fill" setting for aspect ratio activated. I turned it off - now everything looks great!
