Somewhat related, RealMyst Masterpiece is a crock in my opinion. It lost a lot of the atmosphere, has simpler textures in many places, and overall felt very thrown together. Whats the point of porting the game to a modern engine if your not going to bring over the detailed textures as well??

Cyan is still a very small company. They don't have the time, money, or manpower to pull off a big project like that. It would be amazing, though.

I was sad that they removed sunrises/sunsets in some of the ages.

Regarding Myst ME, I did have a better visual experience overall. I noticed the difference. It was definitely nicer. Also, Myst ME uses a newer version of Quicktime, while the original uses an ancient version. But then, if you're using ScummVM that doesn't matter anyway. It sure made a difference back then, though. I wanted to own both, however, as I'm an OCD complete-ist like that.
