Can't get real MT-32 to work with Ringword 1 and 2

Post by sndwv »

I have an actual MT-32 on a USB-to-MIDI adapter, which works fine with all ScummVM games I've tried, but Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch and Return to Ringworld, both using data files from the CD versions, default to midi over my Soundblaster card with no obvious way to pass it through to my MT-32.

This is the same on stable 1.7 and a recent 1.8 build.

Both games work fine with the MT-32 under DOSBox.

Am I overlooking something, should this work? Any tips?

Thanks!

That is because only the Adlib and Soundblaster drivers have been implemented for the TsAGE engine. The Roland and General MIDI ones aren't done yet. We should probably mention this in the engine's TODO.

Edit: It is in the engine's TODO:
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/TsAGE/TODO

...but it's not in the compatibility page for these games

Ah, thanks, I did not check the engine page. Makes sense then. I'll keep an eye out for eventual (hopefully) support!
