Hey guys n gals

New here. Was surprised that I can play old games in win 7 64 bit by using scummvm 1.7, which is 32 bit! I have just about anything Sierra ever made, so happy gaming here again after 15 to 20 years.

Thanks for the feedback. If you want to support the project, there are a few ways of doing this:

I am assuming that you are not a programmer, but if you are, you could take a look at our bug database and perhaps add a patch or Pull Request with code for a feature. See:
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Developer_Central

If not, you can still provide support by playtesting games, especially during release testing and reporting bugs if you encounter any. These both help ScummVM improve. See:
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Release_Testing
http://sourceforge.net/p/scummvm/bugs/

As you have a large collection of original Sierra games and demos for the SCI engine, then please let us know if any of them are marked as unknown variants:
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Engines
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/SCI

This will normally occur on "Add Game" and may require the daily build to show the debug console by default:

Couldn't log in the report forum. In HOF, Zanthia had to enter the haystack screen twice before the haystack ghost appeared. Playing pc cd version in scummvm 1.7 on win xp 32 bit.

That is normal, the ghost doesn't always appear

win xp 32 bit scummvm 1.7

with all three kyrandia games, 1 and 2 is ok. Malcolm plays ok except can't save... actually I can save but it doesn't save to the Malcolm directory and I can't restore. Change the game default directories and one of the other two games directories changes. vice versa. The only way I can save Malcolm successfully is to remove 1 and 2.

There is one save game directory, which is common for all games. You really don't need to change it each time you're playing a new game.

I see, said the vision impaired carpenter as they picked up the hammer and saw.

In scummvm 1.7, The Neverhood runs beautifully. All that's needed is all files in the data directory. Then of course it should be run in full screen (edit game, override in video screen, check full screen).

As far as Sierra is concerned, unfortunately most of their later games (games using the SCI engine) are currently still unsupported, and will stay that way for a long while. But there are some SCI games that are already playable such as SQ4, SQ5, KQ4, KQ5, KQ6, PQ3, Larry 5, GK and possibly more.
