Demetrios - The BIG Cynical Adventure

Hello!

I'm 31, and a French adventure game fan!

I hope you won't mind me posting this here, but I can't see another section to post it. And I figured it could interest some people here, considering SCUMM is mostly used for playing old adventure games.

I've played hundreds of them, my favorites being the likes of Broken Sword, Runaway, Discworld... and visual novels like Ace Attorney, Hotel Dusk, 999 / Zero Escape, etc...

Since a year, I am developing an adventure game named "Demetrios", which you may have heard about (it was mentioned on pretty much all popular adventure games sites!)

The game is currently on Kickstarter and has reached its small funding goals, with 10 days to go!

Here's a short game description :

The game is called "Demetrios - The BIG cynical adventure". It's meant to be a classic Point & Click in first person, but with a specific cynical humor and very interactive / contextual (characters will often react to the stupid things you do!)

I'm doing everything myself : programming, graphics, musics, dialogs... and marketing :p

Judging from the trailer (i didn't play the demo, don't have a machine that would run it) it looks more like a (hidden) object puzzler with some form of action/arcade events.

Nonetheless it may be an adventure it's not what i loved when playing classic point&click games.

Sorry, i wish you the best of luck with your project, but it's not my cup of tea...tastes are different

Ah, maybe the trailer does give the wrong feeling after all. It's really NOT an hidden object game (I don't like these), but a classic adventure game like Broken Sword. Yes, despite the first person view!

Try the demo and you'll see

I think it should run correctly on pretty much any computer less than 10 years old! (The final version will be more optimized and should run on small netbooks though)

Raziel => Interesting, never knew about this one

Though the issue is more with the OS than the hardware!

Anyway...

The development of Demetrios is in the last stages, so I expect to release the game in a few months.

I've posted an update on the Kickstarter with more information on what has been done and what's left! (I can't post the link, but check the Kickstarter)

Among many other things, I've added cutscenes, achievements, cookies and extras

I wanted something pretty that would convey the tone of the game. What do you think?

So, the release of the game is getting closer.

I'm planning to release Demetrios at the end of May! I'll give a precise release date soon

Demetrios has been updated with a MAJOR change : a "toilet humor" option!

Does this make it the first adventure game in history with that kind of choice?!
Yes, now you can choose to play Demetrios without any "gross" jokes!

I know a few people didn't like this aspect of the game, so hopefully you can enjoy this adventure better!

This also includes a new music track in Nogo (I know the soundtrack could be a little repetitive with only 2 tracks there), a full Russian translation, and a few minor fixes.
