Issues with core audio midi on mac version

HI,
I'm having problems with the mac osx core audio midi mode where after a short period of time, the midi will start freaking out be really loud no matter what I have the volume set to. I am currently wondering if this is an issue with scummVM's implementation of core audio support or a problem with mac os. Oh, and for reference I'm using mac osx version 10.11.6 El Capitan.
