Fate of Atlantis SFX

Post by Jamryl »

Hello everyone,

I decided to start a fan game like Indiana Jones fate of Atlantis.
I own the game on steam and Gog and I'm wondering if there is any way to extract the sfx. The sound when you open or close the door. Or the sound of the secret door or car crash sounds at Monte Carlo scene.

I already extracted the MT-32 bgm but I cannot extract the SFX.

I reckon the "new" SFX with voices are stored in monster.fou and the normal one in atlantis.001 so I was wondering if someone had successfully extracted them.

Scumm Revisited should be able to extract them: http://jsg.id.au/scumm/scummrev/index.html
Monster.sou is basically a bunch of VOC files with an index table in front of it, so you could also open the entire file in a sound editor as an 8 bit, 11025 Hz file.

The sounds in atlantis.001 are MIDI. The easiest way to have those in a modern game engine would be probably to record them from the game. ScummVM's debug features would become very handy for this.
