help with scummvm gui fonts!

hey guys
can anyone help me restore my main scummvm gui fonts on the left of the photo, like the one that scummvm v2.0 originally had on the right of the photo?

Check your Graphics Mode (Options -> Graphics Tab -> Graphics Mode).

I am guessing yours is set to something like 3X. Mine 'cleans up' like your ScummVM version 2.0.0 if I set the Graphics Mode to OpenGL.

Thank you for your advice David.
My graphic mode is indeed 3X. I've tried changing it in every other option including OpenGL. Also experimented with Stretch Mode and GUI Renderer options.
No luck though.....
The weird thing is that the pure version 2 of the ScummVM which "loads" the same scummvm.ini as my original version, is looking great....

Where does your version of ScummVM 2.1.0git comes from? Looks almost like it wasn't compiled with FreeType2 support enabled. Have you compiled this by yourself? Is FreeType2 mentioned in the "About" dialog?

Hi Root,
i always download a daily snapshot build from the site and i simply install it over my current installation.
i've never compiled anything myself.
the FreeType2 is mentioned in "about" dialog (features compiled in).....

oh i think that i've found something....
my main gui language is english. if i change it to "default" or "greek" or "english" again i have an error:

i have scummmodern.zip in the scummvm directory

if i change to any other language it doesn't give me an error and the fonts are corrected.
but i want my interface in english.....
