Fascinating article about the recently revealed MI2 Talkie Prototype, Windex (the internal Scumm debugger), and producing talkie adventure games. It even includes the working prototype!

This is really cool and the article is well-done but what interests me is how this compares to the Ultimate Talkie Editions for both Monkey Island 1 and 2?
Link btw: http://gratissaugen.de/ultimatetalkies/monkey1.html
They basically take the audio from any of the two remakes of Monkey Island 1 and 2 and builds a ScummVM/DOS compatible Talkie version out of those.
Those were my absolute favorite ways to play those games until now. Are these original recordings better than the remakes?

The prototype has very limited coverage of voice recording, and being a proof-of-concept is not performed by professional voice actors.
