Final Fantasy Q-Gears engine

Post by Spin »

There was a topic about this subject in the forum of SCUMMVM and there has been a couple of topics in this forum on witch engines to merge, so I thought it was a good idea to bring it up again on this forum because Alone in the Dark en Little Big Adventure are more or less action & adventure's from a 3rd-person perspective and so is Final Fantasy (with the addition that it is also turn-based). Since the author of the Q-Gears engine came with the idea of a merger but it was rejected from SCUMMVM because it's out-of-scope from SCUMMVM (comments in the original forum post suggested it's inclusion into ResidualVM).

So I am just wondering what your opinion is and of course, what Aquadran is thinking of this idea. I also send hal-kun (Q-Gears engine author) a PM about this subject, since after all, Q-Gears engine is his project.

FF7 is too different in terms of gameplay in my opinion, it does have the same graphics set-up except for the battle which are full 3d.

Final Fantasy is definetely an RPG, even a synomin of sorts.

RPGs are known to share some minor elements with adventure games, but other than that they are unrelated.
