Will this harm my computer?

Post by Lord Uber Dowzen »

I've been a big GF fan since I bought the game a few years back. I only just realised after looking at some fan sites that this project was actually in any kind of downloadable form. I'm planning to download, I was just wondering is there anyway this could possibly harm my computer? I don't care if it ruins my GF install (I can always do a clean one) but I'd be devastated if it ruined my gaming computer.

Thanks

You don't have to worry about it harming anything. It won't even affect your Grim Fandango install as it just installs a completely seperate program called ResidualVM that you can use to run Grim Fandango. However, the game isn't currently beatable using ResidualVM. (last time I checked you couldn't beat year 1) You would be better off just running it with the standard Grim Fandango patch at the moment. Another alternative is installing it from your CDs using this:

Hope that helps!

When I did testing to add bugs to the bug tracker I found I was able to get to the petrified forest (with graphics errors) before it crashes.

Thanks. I've played through the game a couple of times so I'd mostly just be doing this for interests sake. Thanks for the help!
